The Authority, from time to time, undertakes traffic and travel surveys and where appropriate, utilizes electronic means of data collection e.g. email or online data collection forms on this website.
The identity of participants in such surveys is of no interest or value to the Authority and is not required as part of the data collection exercise. Participants, however, may be invited to submit a contact telephone number or address if they wish to be included in any incentive scheme (e.g. free draw for prizes) that may apply to the survey.
The provision of this information will always be optional and the participants can decide to remain anonymous. The contact details will be separated from the general survey data prior to the processing of the survey data and will only be used for the purpose of selecting and informing the winning participants. All contact data will be removed when relevant accounting procedures have been completed. The survey data (with all personal contact details removed) may be retained indefinitely by the Authority to enable long-term trends in travel behaviour to be monitored. These data will be totally anonymous and the Authority will not be able to associate any individual data item with any person. Full contact details of the person in charge of the data collection exercise will be part of the information provided about the purpose of the survey.

Beidh 18 nOifigí Nasc Áitiúil ar fud na tíre. Riarfaidh na hoifigí seo thart ar 1,000 Seirbhís Bus Poiblí i gceantair áitiúla agus tuaithe na hÉireann. Bíonn Oifigí Nasc Áitiúil ar oscailt óna 9rn – 5in, Luan go hAoine.
Soláthraíonn Nasc Áitiúil meascán seirbhísí Iompair Phoiblí sceidealaithe agus seirbhísí ó dhoras-go-doras. Ba cheart seirbhísí ó dhoras go doras a chur in áirithe roimh ré leis an oifig Nasc Áitiúil is cóngaraí don seirbhís ar mian leat a úsáid.
Tá sonraí na Seirbhísí Nasc Áitiúil ar fáil tríd an bPeanálaí Turais Náisiúnta. Ina mhalairt de chás, is féidir faisnéis níos mionsonraí ar an raon seirbhísí i do cheantar féin a fháil ach dul i dteagmháil leis an oifig Nasc Áitiúil is cóngaraí duit, a bheidh sásta suíochán a chur in áirithe duit má tá a leithéid ag teastáil.
Is forbairt é Nasc Áitiúil de chuid an Chláir Iompair Tuaithe (RTP) a seoladh in 2007 chun cur le rathúlacht na scéime a tháinig roimhe, an Tionscnamh Iompair Tuaithe (RTI). Bunaíodh an RTI mar threoir-thionscnamh in 2002 chun dul i ngleic le saincheisteanna i dtaca le riachtanais iompair nach raibh á gcomhlíonadh ó thaobh cuimsiú sóisialta agus ar bhonn pobal-bhunaithe. Dhírigh an RTI agus RTP go speisialta ar freagairt do leithlisiú tuaithe agus feabhas a chur ar shoghluaisteacht, inrochtaineacht agus rannpháirtíocht phobail na ndaoine áitiúla, go háirithe ina gcás siúd i mbaol eisiaimh shóisialta. In 2013, soláthraíodh 224,158 turas feithicle faoin gclár, le 1.74 milliún turas paisinéara á nglacadh.
Bhíodh an RTI agus RTP, go dtí mí Aibreáin 2013, á riaradh ag Pobal ach aistríodh an fhreagracht seo chuig an Údarás Náisiúnta Iompair (ÚNI). Tá freagracht reachtúil ag an ÚNI, a bunaíodh in 2009, i leith seirbhísí paisinéara um iompar poiblí a sholáthar. Mar thoradh ar an bhfreagracht i leith iompar áitiúil agus tuaithe comhtháite a chur faoi chúram an ÚNI, lena n-áirítear riaradh an RTP, tá comhdhlúthú á dhéanamh ar mhaoirseacht na seirbhísí iompair áitiúla agus tuaithe uile á maoiniú ag an Stát. Cumasaíonn sé dá réir forbairt nasc níos fearr idir sheirbhísí iompair áitiúla agus tuaithe agus seirbhísí bus agus iarnróid sceidealaithe. Cuireann sé ar chumas an ÚNI freisin bearnaí a aithint sa soláthar seirbhíse agus, de réir mar a bhíonn maoiniú ar fáil, na bearnaí sin a líonadh diaidh ar ndiaidh sa chaoi is éifeachtaí.
Roghnaíodh an RTP le haghaidh athbhreithnithe Luach ar Airgead (VfM) i gcomhréir le gealltanas a tugadh ag seoladh an Chláir in 2007. Chuir an Roinn Iompair an tAthbhreithniú i gcrích i gcomhthéacs measúnú an Rialtais ar chláir chaiteachais phoiblí faoin ‘Tionscnamh um Athbhreithniú Beartais agus Luach ar Airgead’ [Value for Money and Policy Review Initiative]. Foilsíodh an Tuarascáil go luath in 2012, tar éis í a chur faoi bhráid an Rialtais.
Tá sé mar chion oibre ag an ÚNI maoirseacht a dhéanamh ar chur chun feidhme moltaí na Tuarascála agus go háirithe plean mionsonrach a fhorbairt i leith athstruchtúrú eagraíochtúil an RTP chun dul i ngleic le torthaí an Athbhreithnithe VfM. Dhírigh an plean seo ar 18 Limistéar feidhme Nasc Áitiúil a bhunú a sholáthróidh tairseach chriticiúil den daonra agus saintréithe iomchuí le costais reatha gach Aonaid a chothabháil.
